The wall of a separate building in northern Gaza also collapsed due to the heavy rainfall, injuring two people, according to the Wafa news agency. The incidents come as hundreds of tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in central Gaza were flooded by the severe weather, as we reported earlier.

<analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />

<media><media_item>
<alt>A displaced Palestinian child walks in a partially flooded tent camp during a rainy day in Gaza City, November 7, 2026. These areas have received thousands of displaced people. Humanitarian organisations say that their number has reached as high as 200,000. These tents are not suitable for living. They lack even the most basic necessities. There are vulnerable groups here, including elderly people, as well as children who are living in extremely difficult conditions. These are children who have been displaced for more than 20 days. They have gathered some grains and plants from the valleys near the displacement sites and lit fires to cook them. Many of these people have been forced to flee two, three or even four times because of the escalating clashes.
<analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />

<media><media_item>
<alt>FILE PHOTO: Women and children, who fled fighting between the Houthis and government forces in Red Sea coastline areas, walk at a camp for internally displaced people near Aden, Yemen, September 19, 2026. Alison Bottomley, a worker at the Norwegian Refugee Council, said that many people have escaped their homes with no resources since the escalation began. “Almost everyone we speak to, they tell us they left in the middle of the night with just the clothes on their back, they took their family, and they’ve walked 10-15 kilometres [6-9 miles] at night to find safety,” she explained. Due to the number of displaced people, resources are scarce. “Families have been sleeping under trees at night,” Bottomley told Al Jazeera. “People are being very generous, but everybody who’s on the move needs shelter, water and food immediately.”
<analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />

<media />

Civilians in Yemen ‘paying a heavy price’ as conflict triggers displacement, mental health crisis

Ibrahim al-Huri, an assistant professor at the University of Saba Region, says civilians are “paying a heavy price” and experiencing mental health difficulties as a result of the fighting in Yemen. “We have seen hundreds of families who have been forced to leave their houses on the western coast, taking only their essentials with them and leaving everything else behind,” al-Huri told Al Jazeera. “So those people have become disturbed; they have lost their homes, their farms and their sources of income. And many of them have fled to overcrowded camps where people are already struggling to access food, sanitation, water and medical facilities.” The United Nations has said 130,000 people are internally displaced in Yemen due to fighting. Another 3,000 have crossed the sea to seek refuge in Djibouti and Somalia. They are “using primitive boats and putting their lives at risk”, al-Huri added.
<analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />

<media><media_item>
<alt>Analysis</alt></media_item></media>
