Its search revenue just grew at its slowest pace of 2026. Alphabet Inc. reported third-quarter results this afternoon. Search revenue came in about $1.5 billion under estimates, YouTube ads and operating income missed as well, and the stock fell more than 7% after hours. Google Cloud grew 103%. That wasn’t enough, because search still produces most of the cash behind Google’s AI spending.Google hasn’t explained why more searches are producing less growth. Our read is AI Overviews. When Google answers the question at the top of the page, fewer people click on anything below it, and that includes the ads.A lot of B2B demand-gen budget sits on that page. We wouldn’t cut it over one quarter. We would expect the remaining clicks to get more expensive, and we’d start putting real work into being the company those AI answers mention. You pay for a search ad every time someone clicks it. Being the source your category trusts keeps paying off after the budget is spent. Our full analysis on State of Brand here:</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type /><url>https://lnkd.in/gkhZpj2X</url><published_at /><credits>0.0010</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-10-29T08:33:22.873669+00:00</created_at><source><id>1</id><name>linkedin.com</name></source><tags><tag>ai</tag><tag>search</tag><tag>google</tag></tags><media><media_item><id>3418</id><link>https://media.licdn.com/dms/image/v2/D5622AQFvW49vWC-BiQ/feedshare-shrink_800/B56aGEWouTHoAg-/0/1793221889483?e=1795046400&amp;v=beta&amp;t=4PsdeFlswN9gC-11FE2XaIzKEikygVOdS45l9HsRX6Q</link><alt>View image</alt><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-29T08:33:23.109691+00:00</created_at></media_item></media></item><item><id>3553</id><handler>@MarcelLarsen_</handler><handler_name>Marcel</handler_name><external_id /><title>Azure vs. Google Cloud, same quarter: Azure: $33.17B, +48%; Google Cloud: $30.71B, +103%.
