Anthropic chose its ticker symbol for when it goes public on Nasdaq with a valuation anywhere between $1.5Tn and $2Tn. With costs fixed for years in advance and revenues dependent on market conditions, this IPO may well be all or nothing: trillions or bust.
<text>
From the S-1 report filed with the regulators, a few new details were published: steep losses and growing profitability, while the seven founders will maintain control over the company as a group with the help of a special share class.

Much of the cost for the planned growth in compute is contractually fixed for years to come with Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. Anthropic also shows a relatively small corporate customer base. This generates exponential growth but no long-term contracts.
</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0020</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-10-27T05:34:00.818463+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>ipo</tag><tag>anthropic</tag><tag>stocks</tag><tag>ai</tag><tag>trading</tag></tags><media><media_item>

<alt>View image</alt><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-27T05:34:02.647883+00:00</created_at></media_item></media>

<handler>@cjgustafson</handler><handler_name>CJ Gustafson</handler_name><external_id />
Net dollar retention at IPO
<text>
Source: CJ Gustafson (X)
</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0010</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-10-26T18:32:38.436489+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>ipo</tag><tag>stocks</tag><tag>trading</tag></tags><media><media_item>

<alt>Image</alt><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-26T18:32:39.770740+00:00</created_at></media_item></media>

<handler>@YahooFinance</handler><handler_name>Yahoo Finance</handler_name><external_id />
Anthropic's IPO will test investors' appetite for a second public listing with an already massive valuation.
<text>
Source: YahooFinance (X)
</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0010</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-10-26T16:01:06.239238+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>ipo</tag><tag>anthropic</tag><tag>stocks</tag><tag>trading</tag></tags><media><media_item>

<alt>Image</alt><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-26T16:01:07.366876+00:00</created_at></media_item></media>

<handler>https://www.linkedin.com/company/polymarket/</handler><handler_name>Polymarket</handler_name><external_id />
Anthropic reported a net loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $13 billion a year earlier. A potential valuation above $2 trillion would make this one of the defining IPOs of the AI era.The cost story: Anthropic lost more than $8 billion on an operating basis and outlined $518 billion in future cloud and infrastructure commitments. Nearly a quarter of its revenue came from just two customers, while many major clients lack long-term contracts. The Business TimesThe technology story has its own risks. Anthropic warns that increasingly capable AI systems could behave in ways their creators struggle to control.Investors are being asked to price extraordinary growth, enormous spending and unprecedented uncertainty—all at once.The question isn’t whether AI demand is real. Even on an operating basis, it still lost more than $8 billion. And now comes the enormous number: Anthropic has around $518 billion in future cloud, compute, and infrastructure commitments. That is a huge amount of spending for a company that is still losing money. Yet it could soon be valued at more than $2 trillion.
