It’s called CRAM, short for Compressed RAM, and Meta presented it at the Linux Plumbers Conference on October 5.
<text><p>Linux already has memory compression through tools like ZRAM and Zswap. What makes CRAM interesting is how quickly applications can access the data. It uses hardware-assisted compression, allowing reads without the usual software decompression step. In the tests presented, read-only workloads matched normal DRAM performance, while writes were much faster than ZRAM, Zswap, and conventional swap. That means more effective memory capacity with a much smaller performance penalty in those tests. </p></text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0060</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-10-08T06:58:47.593262+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>meta</tag><tag>linux</tag><tag>cram</tag></tags><media><media_item>

<alt>Image</alt><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-08T06:58:48.126302+00:00</created_at></media_item><media_item>

<alt>Image</alt><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-08T06:58:48.162892+00:00</created_at></media_item></media>

<handler>@</handler><handler_name /><external_id />
Meta and Microsoft Work to Wean Staff Off Anthropi...
<text>Meta and Microsoft Work to Wean Staff Off Anthropic’s Claude</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0040</credits><parent_id>2321</parent_id><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-10-06T05:52:29.191446+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>anthropic</tag><tag>meta</tag><tag>microsoft</tag></tags><media><media_item>

<alt /><media_type /><file /><file_name /><file_ext /><created_at>2026-10-06T05:52:30.726210+00:00</created_at></media_item></media>

<handler>@aaronpholmes</handler><handler_name>aaron holmes</handler_name><external_id />
Microsoft internal Anthropic spend was $1b annualized earlier this year, now down >33%
<text><p>Meta has cut Claude Code seats from 60k to 30k In Microsoft's case, lower internal spending has been offset by higher customer Claude use, total Anth spend flat</p></text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0040</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id>2322</referenced_id><created_at>2026-10-06T05:52:28.968002+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>anthropic</tag><tag>meta</tag><tag>microsoft</tag><tag>ai</tag></tags><media />

<handler>https://www.linkedin.com/in/melissarosenthal5/</handler><handler_name>Melissa Rosenthal</handler_name><external_id />
Meta's Muse launched a month ago, and a lot of what it does already stopped working this week.
<text><p>Meta's Muse launched a month ago, and a lot of what it does already stopped working this week. Users are reporting that browser tasks that worked fine last week now fail. Jessica Lessin said about half of her use cases disappeared over two days. We looked into why. Muse is designed to browse like a person. It turns off the signals that tell a website a browser is automated, so sites can't easily tell it apart from a human visitor. That approach was always going to be fragile, and several things caught up with it at once. Cloudflare started blocking AI agents by default on ad-supported pages in September and has since added Muse to its bot directory. Amazon has blocked Muse since September 20, saying Meta never told it the agent would be visiting. NBC News found some of Meta's own retail partners blocking it too. The agents that keep working are the ones with official access, through APIs or partnerships like Shopify's Shop Pay checkout. If your company is using browser agents for anything important, ask the vendor how the agent identifies itself to websites. If it hides that, you could be the one breaking a site's terms. And if your website runs on Cloudflare, check your Agent setting, because you might be blocking your own customers' agents. Thesis...
<text>Disclosing a large short position in $META. Thesis: Muse is offered free of charge with no meaningful cap on inference consumption. Meta is absorbing the full cost of compute, memory, and power on every query in pursuit of user growth. We believe this subsidy is unsustainable under adversarial usage. Position: We have deployed 10,000 endpoints running maximally compute-intensive workloads on a continuous basis. Deployment is scaling at 10,000 units per day. Unit economics: Our marginal cost per endpoint is approximately $300, incurred once. Meta's cost per endpoint is recurring and uncapped. We view this as a highly asymmetric trade. Channel checks: Retail sources confirm unusual laptop demand in the region. We are the source of that demand. Risks: Rate limiting, supply constraints at our primary vendor, and rising operating expenses on our side. Outlook: We expect material margin compression, a miss on next quarter's earnings, and elevated data center thermal risk. This is called activist investing.</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0050</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-09-25T08:29:45.105554+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>investing</tag><tag>meta</tag><tag>activist</tag></tags><media />

<handler>https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-kobeissi-letter/</handler><handler_name>The Kobeissi Letter</handler_name><external_id />
BREAKING: Meta stock extends gains to over +10% on...
<text>BREAKING: Meta stock extends gains to over +10% on the day, now on track for its biggest daily gain since July 2025.The stock has now added +$190 billion in market cap today.</text><analysis /><region /><search_query /><result_type />
<published_at /><credits>0.0050</credits><parent_id /><referenced_id /><created_at>2026-09-22T05:04:46.987694+00:00</created_at>

<tags><tag>market-cap</tag><tag>meta</tag><tag>stock</tag></tags><media><media_item>

<alt /><media_type>IMAGE</media_type><file>/media/content/1326/image.png</file><file_name>image.png</file_name><file_ext>png</file_ext><created_at>2026-09-22T05:05:14.307980+00:00</created_at></media_item></media>

<handler /><handler_name /><external_id />
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emerges as Trump’s top ally in AI safety debate
<text>Jensen Huang’s position as the leader of the world’s most valuable company and the chipmaker at the heart of the AI boom has earned him President Donald Trump’s favor.
